Reinforcing its role in institutional catering, Eden Inc. Berhad eyes growth in Malaysia’s healthcare and government service sectors.
KUALA LUMPUR – Eden Inc. Berhad (EDEN), a diversified public-listed company on Bursa Malaysia, has been awarded a RM20 million contract by the Ministry of Health Malaysia for its wholly-owned subsidiary, Eden Catering Sdn Bhd. The contract involves providing outsourced food services for the Institut Kanser Negara (IKN- National Cancer Institute) over a three-year period, from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2027.
The contract is anticipated to significantly impact EDEN’s earnings and net assets from the financial years ending June 2025 through June 2028, marking a strategic move as the company strengthens its presence in the business-to-government (B2G) segment.
“This milestone reflects our ongoing efforts to expand beyond our business-to-consumer (B2C) roots into business-to-business (B2B) and B2G opportunities,” the company stated. “Our commitment to providing value-added services across the supply chain positions us strongly in Malaysia’s competitive food service sector.”
Institutional Catering: A Strategic Focus
EDEN’s success in securing the IKN contract highlights its ability to meet the stringent requirements of servicing healthcare institutions. As the Group diversifies its revenue streams, the food and beverage (F&B) segment is becoming a key driver of growth alongside its energy and tourism divisions.
Historically, EDEN has operated two power plants under its energy segment and managed Underwater World Langkawi (UWL) through its tourism division.
