PETALING JAYA: The Johor state assembly has been dissolved after weeks of speculation, making way for fresh polls.

In a Facebook post, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar said he signed the dissolution decree after granting an audience to Johor menteri besar Hasni Mohammad.

An election must be held within 60 days of the dissolution, which means that it must take place on or before March 23.

Mahathir Mohamad said to be in a critical condition at IJN

Meanwhile, former premier Tun Mahathir is said to be in critical condition, having been brought to IJN earlier today in an unconscious state.

A huge turnout of local and foreign media are seen camping outside awaiting news of the health condition of the 96-year old who ruled Malaysia for 22 years under the Barisan Nasional flagship and 22 months under Pakatan Harapan.
