Behind every successful Entrepreneur is a system of support, mentorship and opportunity. The UNITI Madani Entrepreneurship Centre (UMEC) is building that ecosystem—empowering entrepreneurs from ground zero to global markets.
KUALA LUMPUR, 13 Feb 2026 – In Malaysia’s crowded entrepreneurship landscape, some of the most impactful Entrepreneur platforms operate quietly. The UNITI Madani Entrepreneurship Centre (UMEC), based at Menara Arina UNITI, is one of them.

More than a co-working space or virtual office, UMEC is an integrated Entrepreneur ecosystem. It supports startups, SMEs, home-based businesses and scaling companies through structured mentoring, business training, funding facilitation and regional market access.
Dr Syed Omar Syed Agil, CEO of Yayasan UNITI and UMEC corporate director, personally counsels members—instilling the belief that “impossible” is not an option when an Entrepreneur has the right support system.

“As an entrepreneur, you often walk alone — until you find the right community. UMEC is redefining what it means to support an entrepreneur in Malaysia, offering more than space, but a pathway to growth and sustainability,” he said.
A Practical Launchpad for the Modern Entrepreneur
For as little as RM150 per month under its virtual office plan, an Entrepreneur gains far more than a business address. Members enter a structured ecosystem designed to move businesses from idea stage to expansion.
Core offerings include:
- Business coaching and structured training
- Financial advisory support, including guidance for grants via SME Corp Malaysia
- Business matching and pitching sessions
- Networking events with agencies such as FAMA
- Market access initiatives into Thailand and the Indochina region
For many Entrepreneurs, access—not talent—is the biggest barrier. UMEC addresses that gap directly.
Recognising Entrepreneurial Excellence
UMEC recently reinforced its commitment to nurturing high-performing entrepreneurs through its Majlis Anugerah Usahawan UMEC and Gala Dinner 2026, held on 6 February at D’Arina Skyview.
The event celebrated 22 outstanding entrepreneurs from diverse industries and drew approximately 200 entrepreneurs from across Malaysia. The evening highlighted innovation, resilience and measurable business growth within the UMEC ecosystem.
“UMEC is proud to spotlight the extraordinary talent within our community. Tonight, we celebrate not just business success but also the vision, perseverance and dedication that define Malaysia’s entrepreneurial landscape,” Dr Syed said.
Among the award recipients was Rani Wemel, Co-Founder and COO of LTT Global, who won the Best Learning Innovation Entrepreneur award.

Reflecting on her one-year journey at UMEC, she said the biggest advantage was peace of mind.
“I no longer spend days worrying about rental, staff salaries and utilities. Instead, I focus on growing my business. The supportive team and accessibility of Dr Syed make it more than a workspace — it feels like a community that genuinely wants you to succeed.”
Driving Inclusive Economic Growth
UMEC works alongside organisations such as PERDASAMA to strengthen Entrepreneur networks and industry recognition.
Guided by advisor Datuk Seri Prof Dr Karl Ibrahim, the centre continues to expand its regional outlook under the broader umbrella of UNITI Asia Group.
Today, hundreds of Entrepreneurs are part of the UMEC network. Many have progressed from startup stage to securing funding, expanding regionally and entering global markets.
Despite its growing footprint, UMEC remains relatively low-profile. Yet its Entrepreneur success stories suggest it may be one of Malaysia’s more quietly effective business ecosystems. – NMH
In Part 2, New Malaysia Herald will feature Entrepreneurs who began within UMEC and have since built award-winning businesses beyond Malaysia’s borders.
