Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) investigator Kevin Morais was never involved in any probe on Datuk Seri Najib Razak pertaining to SRC International Sdn Bhd funds.
MACC investigation officer SAC Rosli Hussain confirmed this today, Tuesday, August 27, 2019, before Judge Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali during a cross-examination at the Najib-SRC trial.
“He was never involved in the investigation,” said Rosli when asked by the lead defence counsel Tan Sri Mohammad Shafee Abdullah on the final 57th hearing day of the trial that started on April 3 this year.
The 57th prosecution witness’ testimony once for all quashes the malicious and immoral campaign carried out by Pakatan Harapan before the 14th General Election (GE14) to link Kevin Morais death with then Prime Minister Najib.
On Sept 16, 2015, Kevin Morais was found murdered and his body was discovered in a drum filled with cement at Taman Perumahan USJ 1, Persiaran Subang Mewah in Subang Jaya, Selangor.
Then many Pakatan leaders and their mouthpieces, including ‘gun for hire’ blog, Sarawak Report (SR), claimed that Kevin Morais was involved in drafting a criminal charge sheet against Najib prior to his tragic death.
The remorseless Pakatan leaders and SR went on an overdrive to imply that Kevin Morais death has something to do with Najib’s graft case.
Run by British mercenary Clare Rewcastle Brown, Sarawak Report had even published the charge sheet, which was instantly denounced as fake by the authorities then.
Spinmaster Clare Brown even claimed that Kevin Morais was her informant in MACC.
Today Rosli confirmed that the charge sheet was genuine but Kevin Morais was never involved in drafting it.
But he testified that the draft was only to assist investigations conducted by a special task force headed by then Attorney-General Tan Sri Gani Patail on the Saudi Arabian donations and SRC funds deposited into Najib’s private accounts in Ambank.
The existence of a pre-investigation charge sheet affirmed the fact that a conspiracy was hatched to execute an internal coup to overthrow Najib in 2015.
